These are the skills and techniques that secondary 1 students will hone when they enrol in our Math tuition.
Sec 1 students will gain proficiency in working with negative numbers, integers, fractions, and decimals, using all four operations. Our Math tuition will also help them learn to represent and order numbers on a number line, use symbols like <, >, ≤, and ≥, and apply approximation and estimation techniques.
Our Math tuition helps students transition from primary to secondary school algebra by teaching them to use letters to represent numbers and interpret notations. Secondary 1 students will learn to evaluate and simplify linear expressions and gain the ability to translate real-world situations into algebraic expressions and linear equations to solve problems.
Sec 1 students in our Math tuition will master the concepts of ratio and proportion, learning to compare quantities and divide them in a given ratio, even when involving rational numbers. They’ll also develop skills in solving complex percentage problems, including reverse percentages, and finding percentage increase or decrease.
Our Math tuition equips secondary 1 students with a deep understanding of angles, including those formed by parallel lines and a transversal. They will gain proficiency in calculating the area and perimeter of composite plane figures, as well as the volume and surface area of various solids like prisms and cylinders.
Secondary 1 students in our Math tuition will gain an appreciation for the properties of geometric shapes by learning about line and rotational symmetry in plane figures. They will be able to identify lines of symmetry and determine the order of rotational symmetry of different shapes.
