Students will learn about different energy stores and how energy is transferred. You will apply key concepts like work, power, and efficiency to solve problems and understand energy resources.
Students will learn about positive and negative charges and how electric fields are created. You will also understand the dangers and practical applications of electrostatic charging in everyday life.
Students will learn about conventional current, electromotive force, and potential difference. You’ll also explore the concept of resistance and how it changes in different electrical conductors.
Students will learn to draw and interpret circuit diagrams. You will explore the principles of series and parallel circuits, and understand the function of common circuit components like resistors and diodes.
Students will learn about the heating effects of electricity and how to calculate electrical energy costs. You will also understand the dangers of electricity and the importance of safety features like fuses and earthing.
Students will learn about the fundamental properties of magnets and magnetic fields. You will also learn how to distinguish between temporary and permanent magnets and describe their uses and effects.
Students will learn how magnetic fields are created by electric currents. You will explore the force on a current-carrying conductor and understand the principles behind the operation of a d.c. motor.
Students will learn the principles of electromagnetic induction. You will explore how a simple generator and transformer work, and understand why high-voltage transmission is advantageous.
Students will learn about the composition of the atom and the nature of radioactive decay. You’ll also discuss the applications and hazards of radioactivity and the meaning of nuclear fusion and fission.
Students will learn about the principles of light reflection and refraction. You will discover how thin converging lenses form images and understand the application of total internal reflection.

Typically, each lesson is about 2 hours long. However, the duration may be extended to help increase the students’ attention span. Each lesson usually includes a 10-minute break. The break allows students to recharge and consolidate.
A lesson standard class schedule will be issued through Google Calendar to the parents of each student at the start of every month. Lesson slots are assigned based on mutual agreement between the student and the centre, taking into account the student’s stated availability.
In the event that the student is unable to attend a particular lesson, the parent of the student will need to notify the student success coordinator at least one day in advance. The lesson will then be rescheduled. Our lesson schedules are flexible, and we will try our best to accommodate students’ urgent or last-minute requests.
